Meaning:

-         Critical situation

Example:

Touch base

Meaning:

-         To talk to someone for a while

Example:

1.   While in Delhi, we touched base with some old friends.

Finishing touch

Meaning:

-         Final details that complete one’s work.

Example:

1.   I just need to add the final touches to my new product.

Touch a sore spot (point)

Meaning:

-         Sensitive matter

Example:

1.   We shouldn’t touch a sore spot and ask him about the accident.

Touch a nerve with

Meaning:

-         Make someone upset

Example:

1.   Any talk of raising the cost of oil touches a nerve with citizens.

Lose touch with

Meaning:

-         Lose contact with someone

Example:

1.   Although we lived in different countries, they have never lost touch with each other.
