This means the worst part of a
difficult situation is over, and the end goal is in sight
Example:

officially out of the woods. He just needs
to recover now.

Bring home the bacon

To bring home the bacon means to make
an income or earn a living to support your family
Example:

Ever since her father was injured, she’s
been working two jobs to bring home the bacon.
