TENSES

(PART 2)

 

Simple Present Tense:

i)                An action that occurs on a regular basis.

ii)              Fact that stands true all the times.

iii)             Structure: Subject+Verb1+Object.

iv)             Example 1: I play football regularly.

(Explanation: I am doing an activity on regular basis from the past till now and I will continue in the future also)

Example 2: Sun rises in the east.

(Explanation: Now, it is the truth based on the fact that the sun rises in the east. No one can change it)

v)               Note: In case of 3rd person singular: Vs/Ves form.

Example: Ram plays football regularly.

Simple Past Tense:

i)                An action that is completed before now.

ii)              Structure: Subject+Verb2+Object.

iii)             Example: I played football yesterday.

(Explanation: An action of playing football that is already completed in the past)

Simple Future Tense:

i)                It refers to an action that will occur or happen in the future.

ii)              Structure: Subject+Will+Verb1+Object.

iii)             Example: I will play football tomorrow.

(Explanation: Referring to an action that will happen tomorrow)
