Boxed in 

-         Restricted

Example:

1.    Someone had parked behind us and boxed us in.

2.     I felt boxed in by their petty rules.

3.    Don’t box yourself in when you are asked what salary you want.

4.    He feels boxed in at work and wants greater freedom to develop his ideas.

Watch out

-         Look out

-         Used to warn someone about something dangerous

Example:

1.    If you do not watch out, he might harm you.

2.    Watch out! There is a car coming!

3.    Watch out! There is a snake ahead!

4.    If you don’t watch out, you are going to fall over.

Mix up

-         To confuse one thing with the other

Example:

1.    I always mix identical twins up, so they ridicule me all the time.

2.    Someone has mixed up all the application forms.

3.    I sorted all the papers and you have mixed them up again.

4.    I think you must be mixing me up with someone else.

Live on

-         Think and talk about a particular subject for too long

Example:

1.    ‘Her death is a great loss to society, but her memory will live on’, said the minister.

2.    She died ten years ago, but her memory lives on.

3.    Small birds live mainly on insects.

4.    My salary is not enough for us to live on.
